So i have to say that for me personally the heart cotton pads are too small. The fabric is really amazing, but i find with the size they are really hard to hold onto. If they were bigger and had a handle or slot to put your fingers in they would be better. Thats just for me personally.
These are so cute! And reusable?! How much better does it get? I so far only use these for applying toner, but now I don't feel guilty for throwing away a barely used cotton ball... They rinse out easily, dry quickly and are ready to use again (only use each one for a couple of days before they go in the washer in their very own little wash bag). Because the texture is just right - like a soft wash cloth - I think I might try them with facial cleanser next.
Super soft but seems to rub away dead skin and dirt effortlessly. My skin always looks so calm and redressed after using these versus the cotton rounds I was using prior. The bag they come in is soft as well. The products are made very well and I do not see them falling apart anytime soon! I love them!
This will depend on your flow since there is no specific number for pad usage. In the case of pads, you can wear them as long as you'd like until the pad is full, signalling that it's time for a new pad. You do not risk toxic shock sydrome while using pads, so they can be used up to 6 hours or more during the day.
Since pads tend to be made of absorbent material, we do not recommend using them while you swim, as the absorbent fabric will fill with water and not effectively soak up period blood. Instead, use our 100% Cotton Tampons or our Reusable Period Cups for controlled support.
We have these in our school bathrooms and I'm so grateful! I usually use a different brand of pads, but found they always have different products to make them, not just cotton. With having sensitive skin, those products would cause itching and an irritated area whereas with Auntflow pads I never have that happen! And then I started thinking about the cotton balls themselves. I could get organic cotton balls in a plastic bag, but the cotton in this box was not organic. And, according to the Organic Trade Association:
And I got 30 responses! Some people chose paper over plastic. Some chose organic in plastic over paper. And then someone suggested cutting up flannel for reusable cotton squares. Oh duh! Reusables are always better than disposable! And another person suggested checking on Etsy. Of course, EVERYTHING is on Etsy! And finally, someone pointed me to a company called Better for Grownups that makes reusable cotton rounds from organic cotton and packages them in plain brown boxes. The best answer yet.
I use cotton balls for removing makeup only and I have used reusable but I find they are very rough on the eyes and they are hard to wash, mascara is really hard to wash off the reusable pads. I like your boxed cotton balls , where did you get them?
I use cotton balls so seldom that one plastic bag of organic cotton balls has so far lasted me for more than 2 years. However, as lovely as the idea of reusable cotton pads is, they will not work for nail polish removal.
I am using up the last of my plastic packaged organic cotton rounds that I use for reflexology (cleaning feet). I do use washable towelling, which some people are squeamish about, but whatever, I have a sanitizer function on my washer dehydrator. I am grateful for your research and thoughtfulness once again and am going to buy from an Etsy crafter.
I save the cotton balls that come in bottles of vitamins and use those for whatever cotton-ball needs I have. Of course vitamin bottles are plastic, but in my household we make an exception around plastics for medical supplies, both prescription and over-the-counter.
